Due to privacy policies, we can only discuss account-related matters with the policyholder. To ensure confidentiality (FERPA and HIPAA), all inquiries must be sent from the student's @illinois.edu email to our office. We are unable to respond to emails or texts from parents or guardians. Students must initiate the conversation, but are welcome to CC others - we will gladly reply to all.

The University of Illinois has partnered with UnitedHealthcare to process the comprehensive, major-medical plan we offer to students. From prescription drugs to mental health care, inpatient surgical care to outpatient and emergency services, our plan has our students covered.  

The Student Health Insurance office on the Urbana campus is prepared to address questions related to coverage, enrollment process, opt-out process, and facilitate resolution to more complicated situations.
